El objetivo del presente trabajo es caracterizar el material particulado PM 2.5 y PM 10 presente en el aire de Medellín y evaluar su capacidad de promover la respuesta inflamatoria y las infecciones virales respiratorias. Se cuantificará el efecto de este material sobre la expresión de los componentes de los inflamasomas, de las citoquinas proinflamatorias, del efecto citotóxico y en la replicación viral en cultivos celulares, así como los cambios histo-patológicos pulmonares desarrollados en un modelo murino de exposición aguda al PM del aire de Medellín.
